Giving birth - Argentina or Chile ?

1. I want my kid have another passport by jus soli law
2. I don't need giving birth in US, as Canadian we can get US passport by other means.
3. I want the country speak Spanish
4. I want to the country has potential (economy, political) in the distant future.
5. I want the country as far from US as possible.

I don't understand why #5 would be important. Please explain.

On the world stage, Argentina is important to only 4 parties: Uruguay, Brazil, Chile and expats who live here. No one else cares about Argentina, although the IMF has been paying us a little more attention lately (perhaps that has something to do with a $57 billion loan).

If #4 is important in your decision, you are investigating what is arguably the second-lowest rung on the South American ladder.

I think the key word here is "distant".
He is not considering countries that are important right now, or will become important in a reasonable time frame
