An US$800 mistake, good now only as a paperweight.

Am looking at a Samsung Galaxy A15, 128 GB, 279 dollars at Personal. Any better alternatives? Opinions, please.

Just wondering, what happened? We got our iPhone 12s from import_max in 2021, after 4 years they're approaching the end of their usefulness (I am not gentle with phones, and don't use a case), but we're generally happy with them.

Won't charge. Had trouble from the start.

I had an 1Phone 6 built like a Mack truck - after eight years still works fine. Sadly, I gave it away when I got the newer one in 2023.

Big mistake...! HUGE...!

Not even wireless charging?

I’ve had stupid problems with charging my phone, sometimes it decides it doesn’t like a cable but we found stuff that works dependably, eventually.

Is it still under warranty? Just get it fixed. In the worst-case scenario, they might need to replace the battery. Hopefully, it will still be cheaper than buying a new Samsung A15.

Samsung A15 is a budget phone. After being an iPhone user, you'll probably find it hard to adjust.

I just got my iPhone 6 back - now enthusiastically charging...!

Any suggestions on a good place to take the paperweight 13 to be checked?

What is wireless charging? Never heard of it. (As I never heard of so many technologically advanced things...)

I tried three different cables plus the original iPhone charger, and none worked.

A few years back, I got a wireless charger when I was in Ireland. It's a smallish disc that you put your iPhone on to charge. You don't need to plug your phone into anything. You connect the wireless charger to a USB charger. It works with my backup iPhone 10, so you should have no problems.

The charger was from Penneys (Primark), and it was stupidly cheap, maybe 5 Euros, but I don't remember anymore.

Recently I've had problems (overheating the connector, to the point of melting the plastic) using chargers and cables with the original USB connector. USB-C chargers and cables (i.e. USB-C -> Lightning) seem to work much better, and faster.
