I've finally decided I should get some insurance here because it appears to have gotten to the point where that would actually reduce my yearly healthcare expenditures of routine care not even taking into account the insurance part of it.

Now that I've decided to get health insurance, I'm lost in the maze of options of what to get. I'm hoping that some knowledgeable expats could point me in the right directions.

Things I care about:
Prescription med discounts - This is definitely my biggest medical outlay and where I would see the most benefit from insurance. Does any plan offer over 40%? I haven't found anything.
Hotel services incase of internment - single room, big bed, etc.
Being able go to ERs and providers close to where I live (near the river plate stadium).
Not needing a referral to see specialists.
Being able to get top shelf care all over the country.
Basic dental work, cleaning, filling, etc.
Corrective othotics.

Things I don't care about that seem commonly packaged in.

Naturopathy, Chiropractic, etc.
International Healthcare
Cosmetic Surgery
Pregnancy and IVF.
Glasses/Contacts
Cosmetic Dental Procedures.
Discounts in random stuff (tourism, movies, etc).

Anybody particularly happy with their health insurance? My girlfriend has OSDE and seems to like it. I've seen hospital aleman posted on here a few times, but getting to that part of town is kind of an inconvenience for me.

I'm also on Swiss Medical now. So far I'm happy but need to learn more Spanish to be able to communicate well.

I have been an (unfortunately) all too active user of my OSDE. Three hospitalizations and four surgeries in 6 years. Never been disappointed by their affiliated doctors or facilities. I can't say enough good things about them, but I can say I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL that I have it!

i had hospital Aleman for last 12 months.

Not happy with them.

Plan to take GalenoGold/Hospital Trinidad.

We use OSDE. Like.others have found.it is relatively expensive but very.good coverage. No need for.specialist approval. We also used.OMINT and had very good.coverage.

I ve had a lot of prepagas, I used them a lot since Im diabetic and have to go to doctors a lot. The best by far is OSDE. Best doctors, best dental plan, best hospitals, best service.

do these plans here in Argentina cover dental also or is it just medical? Im also thinking about getting a family plan for me, my baby boy and my wife but have no clue which one is good for basic coverage.

I quitted Medicus (to OSDE) because of the abismal differences in their dental plans.
