We believe our elementary-age son may have a learning disability.
We are getting no guidance from his private, Catholic, Argentine school in how to deal with the situation.
Please, can anyone point me in the direction of a professional (Spanish or English speaking) who can help us with things such as diagnosis, treatment, cognitive therapy, etc. ?

Thank you

You need a Psicopedagogo (a psychologist who specialize in kids). The school must have one but it may not be the best out there, or he/she may be neglecting your kid's needs.

http://www.proyectosuma.org/ this is a good place but I don't know if the treat kids,
http://apa.org.ar/ this is another place, but I don't know how they work.

Even if they can't treat your son they may be able to recommend the right professional. Your health care should also have a mental health program, give them a call and they should be able to tell you were to go.

Please don't put your kid on meds right away, maybe you should try alternative therapies once you get a diagnosis. If you are interested I have a great professional in graphology and Bach flowers, she works wonders and she is really affordable.

Don't get desperate, be as calm as possible and once you get a diagnosis also get a second opinion. Best wishes.
