How do expats feel about the Luigi Mangioni situation?

His family (and Luigi) didn’t even use United so they weren’t the ones who denied him. No matter, you don’t kill someone because you don’t agree with their policies or else millions would be killed every day!
Well this murder, tragic as it was, has stirred huge outrage about the broken healthcare system in the US. Luigi Mangione's action may be what makes politicians fix it.

Yes! Health insurance executives who deny care should be subject to capital punishment. Mangioni killed one man. who headed a health insurance company whose huge rate of denials of coverage have caused the deaths of so many more.
We must remember, insurance is principally a for-profit private enterprise and that is entirely electable by the customer. You certainly would not be justified to murder the CEO of McDonalds because the saturated fats of their food have killed countless customers. There are a lot of smoke and mirrors in the health industry that make shopping for insurance, hospitals and procedures incredibly difficult. There are many hospital websites that also hide the true rates that non-insured, government insured, and privately insured would pay for the same procedure. In some cases it is cheaper to apply for a procedure uninsured than privately insured due to government limitations, insurance copays, etc.

Sadly, Americas approach to everything as a capitalist business venture pretty much guarantees ordinary Americans being treated as cash cows to skim for overpaid insurance premiums of healthy adults.

Electable? If you don’t have health insurance in the United States doctors and hospitals can decline to treat you for a life threatening illness. There are other affordable options to McDonald's, a place where I would never eat ;) Also United Healthcare has a well-documented history of refusing legitimate claims for profit

This is not true...

Where uninsured fall between the cracks is preventative screening and non-emergency care.

I’m not talking emergency rooms. I am talking about coverage of life essential medications that are insanely expensive, covering the cost of longer term stays in a hospital as requested by a doctor, coverage of painkilling medication prescribed by a doctor, and on and on. Do your research
