If you're willing to pay a very little bit of money, you can have a top-notch service that works with an IP phone/phone adapter, or with a smartphone, or both.
And it includes pretty much anything you'd ever want from a phone system - can forward to any number on earth, can do any or all of the above but filtered depending on caller, hour, or both, also lets you create interactive menus 'for ... press 1', and much more.
Can also have multiple numbers, say one for Vancouver and one for Cleveland. They cost $2 a month and 1¢ incoming, or $5 (I think) unlimited.
Even an Argentine number can be had for like $14 a month, unlimited calls. (Only problem is that Caller ID doesn't work for Argentine callers).
The interface to manage all this is a bit complicated, but there are resellers here who for a fee will set it all up for you.
