Hi,

I just wanted to make a clear thread and post about how to open a bank without a DNI.
I did this myself and thought it is good to help and share :)

Step 1:
Go to the police station or to registracion civil to obtain certificado domicilio.
You will need to carry your passport, nothing else is required.
No witnesses or rental contract was needed in my case.
They need to write the paper for ARCA aka AFIP.

Step 2:
Go with that signed paper + passport to ARCA.
Together with form 663
Make sure you have copies from all your papers including passport.
Motivation : usario system financial
They will give you a CDI

Step 3:
Go to banco nacional, they are as far as i know the easiest.
together with the papers acquired from step 1 + 2 and you explain your situation.
They will open a bank account in pesos for you without many issues.

I hope it helps, it was quiet a journey for me.

Got this email and a buddy of mine too, opened an account with passport and CDI at Santander but for some reason they're closing our accounts since we don't have DNI

That is a bit nasty, Santander had been one of the few banks to allow opening an account with just a precaria visa (though you had to shop around for a branch that would do it).

But since this government took power, bank customers’ rights have gone out the window. You’re suppose to be able to close your account online (you can’t), and close your credit cards online, even if you owe money (you can’t).

i couldn't even open a bank account with a DNI at santander because i don't have a local income. who knows if thats the rule or the the indiviudal banker that i got stuck with!

From what I know is that Banco Nacional is the easiest to open. After some searching I saw that more people reported issues with Santander.
