How would you get a simple medical test done as a tourist?

it's august, all private health care is on maldives, they will only be able to take one's £400 in the beginning of october, if not gone for halloween party.
seriously, so many people commute on Ryanair to their better service in eastern europe
the OP has a great opportunity to try it out in argentina, may be a life changing experience
i don't know that i'd call experiencing a health system generally stuck in the 1990s as "life changing"

Do you think it's that bad here? I'm anything but an expert, but my limited experience with health insurance (OSDE) and out-patient treatment here in Buenos Aires has been positive, overall. Some specific areas like dental care and periodontology are definitely quite backward, but otherwise everything was quick and seemed competent.

it's competent, just the idea of being so amazing it will change your life seems a bit odd. a colleague once had his appendix removed and had to carry it himself to another lab for testing. that's what I mean by a bit dated.

I have used CentraLab for a variety of tests- fast, cheap, easy to deal with. I have had covid tests, as well as blood tests done there, at the advice of my Argentine Doctor. Quick email reports of test results. They have branches all over town. Overall, they are much less bureaucratic than any equivalent US facilities. Cant speak for Blighty.

In general, for simple things, I find the Argentine medical system to be easy and fast and cheap. Obviously, there is the language barrier, although many of the specialists have some overseas training.
