Hello, friends of the forum!

My child is from China and is 16 years old. I am looking for an Argentinian International High School for my child as the Chinese ones are not very cost effective and often expensive. I've been looking at forums and the internet, and I've come up with Baica, but I'm hoping that someone on this forum who knows more about the subject might have some other opinions, so I'm asking for some advice.

He has basically no Spanish, so I have chosen to put him through one semester of 9th grade before moving on to 10th grade in order to prevent him from not being able to keep up with the instruction. In the future he would like to further his education in the US or Argentina. Would Baica be a good choice for him? And how much is the tuition for one academic year?

Thanks for your answer!

I have kids in Lincoln. There are only two genuine English-speaking schools in Buenos Aires with Northern Hemisphere calendar: Lincoln, which is where most expats kids go and BAICA, which is too religious for my taste. There are French, German and even Russian school, and even more bi-lingual schools with fancy names (St. This, St. That, St. Fulano...), but they are following Argentian school calendar with some classes in English. Of course, there are many excellent Argentian private schools. BUT, for an English-speaking expat family that will spend 3-4-5 years and then continue schooling in another European or Northern American school, Lincoln and BAICA are the only choices.

hope it helps.

Lincoln doesn’t have a good reputation in the Chinese community, and its price is probably the highest in Argentina, so I didn’t choose it.

I personally have no attitude towards religion. According to what you said, Baica is a real English school. If its tuition is suitable, I will give it priority.

Anyway, thank you very much for your reply!

The best international (private) school in Neuquen is Sunrise Academy in Cipolleti. School schedule is 8 hours daily. Half in Spanish, half in English. I'm not sure what secondary grade rates are but primary grade is around $708,000 monthly. It's an amazing campus, but a pain in the rear getting in/out. Also a more expensive city overall than CABA.
