Is Cristina finally making her move?

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but the facts do not support this allegation. Let me just highlight two -

1) During the 12 years of Kirchner presidencies, the size of the middle class doubled.
2) The last and economically-worst year of Cristina's presidency saw 22% inflation; every year since then has seen inflation of twice that, or more.

Redpossum point #1 may be true, but at the start of the Kirchner years the economy was decimated, so you're starting at a very low level to begin with, you weren't going to go down further from there. Also, those 12 years coincided with the soy, corn, wheat supercycle save the last few years when the economy started to falter.

#2. Since the dollars started to dry up at the end they had to ramp up the printing press. There is a lag from monetary action to inflation, it doesn't appear right away.

I assume anyone who had access to that photo was within the FPV party. You'd have to think it's an insider trying to weaken AF.

Size of the middle class? According to what reference? Purchasing power has done nothing but get worse every single year I have been here. The middle class is getting brought down to the poor - not the other way around. I have never seen any union that has managed to get salary increases that match real inflation - it's always less - which means ding ding - their purchasing power is getting less.

If that statistic is accurate it's because they take the size of the middle class of when the economy collapsed and the Kirchners took over.

2000 to 2014 was the commodity cycle and you'll see most other Latin American countries who are dependent on low US interest rates and high commodity prices like Brazil, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Colombia, Bolivia all did well during that period. Even Venezuela for that matter. And towards the end of the cycle many of those countries started to falter.

well, this pretty much makes clear her goals.
Another goal of CFK involving cabinet changes that may materialize soon after the legislative elections?
19 August 2021
The writer, Jorge Asís, spoke of the shortcomings of the President and considered that "he comes with a string of mistakes." He also stressed that the president insists that "they are not going to make him fall" when "he actually fell on top of himself."
Asís spoke yesterday live with Luis Novarecio on his tv program (Dicho Esto/A24) about the figure of Alberto Fernández after the dissemination of photos and videos of the celebrations in Olivos....
...."Cristina Kirchner cannot admit the mistake, her responsibility for having chosen this boy, who surprised everyone. It is not that she was wrong, "she is disenchanted with her choice,"....In relation to the legislative elections, which will be held on Nov 14, Asis remarked that "all this scandal covers up a lot of the projects that will be clarified when the election passes" and that "until the election, you have to see how many beans each one has". He highlighted the figures of the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, and the senator for the Frente de Todos, Máximo Kirchner, within the ruling party: "What this government supports is the articulation between the two of them." In the last sections of the interview, he insisted that both will head large ministries: "One would include everything that has to do with the economy, production, energy", by Massa, and the other "with work, development and social issues" that would be for Kirchner....

well, this pretty much makes clear her goals.
Because 12 years of governing as either president or first lady plus another 4 years as vice within 20 years is not enough for her political space to achieve a sustainable economic model and life for Argentines but 4, 8, 12 more years will?

Anyhow, seems Alberto is now forgiven and we continue with Frente de Impunidad as if nothing ever happened. With each flagrant delito and blunder they shrug off, the bolder they get knowing that whether it be footage of bags of cash outside of convent or notebooks inside an evidence room, condoning environmental harm, condoning human rights abuses, making misogynistic statements, misappropriating public resources, illicit enrichment, cover ups.... a partying president during a lockdown... or a move to weaken institutions and install themselves as the president/ party/ neo-monarchy for life... there is little difference. There will always be an “ellos” to blame the failures on, and as long as they have money to hand out, there will always be votes to legitimize all of the above.

Unfortunately the majority were are not willing to go through the pain of remaking the system. Instead short term cash donations from the government win even though it's terrible for them long term.

As if this cake needed any more icing on top... "it's not a crime if nobody got sick."

In all seriousness with this kind of "defence" from the same guy who made the law, does this mean international travellers don't need to worry about quarantine when they get back here as long as they don't make anyone sick? Just pull a Moyano or a Fernandez and tell the court the charge is illegal because the "harm" is hypothetical?

Well in the background of all this scandal some uncomfortable data showing Alberto is taking on more debt than Macri. Ah, pero... perhaps a clandestine fiesta is better than shining a light on a harsher reality?
Argentina's public debt rose to US $ 343,519 million in June 2021, the highest value in history in absolute terms, surpassing the July 2019 mark (US $ 341,958).

I must have forgotten the 18 month worldwide pandemic that Macri's government had to manage that allows for a like for like comparison of debt.

That would make sense if they actually had something to show for "managing" 18 months of worldwide pandemic other than 110,000+ dead, 45+% living in poverty (18 months later...), 50+% inflation. They certainly did not spend US$30bn on vaccines or ATP...

Just like the last years of CFK, when there is no boom time and money runs low, they have no clue how to govern or change direction other than rack up deficits and debt to sustain the illusion of living large - all the while giving themselves pay increases and paying for people like Fabiola's haircuts and brindis.
