Perhaps one solution would be to only apply the export tax to raw materials. Any value added goods and services would be exempt from the tax which is currently 12%. This would make Argentine products and services competitive in the world market and provide jobs and indirect taxable income for the government.There are too many vested interests in maintaining the status quo.
Peronism will return in a slightly different form and the land owning elite will go back to having cheap government subsided labour.
Argentina’s mineral/agricultural riches will continue to be exported, without adding any value, for the benefit of a few.
