I've been using Western Union for over a year now because I don't do it that often, but I heard it was $1,230 pesos per dollar today. Is there another way to take better advantage of this rate? I only have my debit card.

Cuevas if you have cash usd or can get usdt crypto. If you only have debit card then only WU.

Most cuevas are 1200-1210 today and western union will probably be around 1190 when they update the rate.

Contado con liqui is the rate WU follows.

Someone mentioned that dollar transfers to Argentina, via Moneygram to a local wallet, has a zero fee..! will give it a try.

Local wallet (billetera digital) means Mercado Pago, Ualá, Naranja X. I don't know if some of the others, like MODO or Cuenta DNI or Personal Pay can work for those transfers. I transfer to Mercado Pago.
You can transfer USD from a foreign bank account to a Mercado Pago wallet? If so -- what is the exchange rate? Do they charge fees?

I just logged in. The rate for debit card to Argentine bank is 1214.78 ($2 flat fee).
The rate to transfer to mobile wallet is 1241.44, no fee.

The US page for MoneyGram is: https://www.moneygram.com/mgo/us/en/
On that page, you'll see a rate for Argentina of 1268.09, but that's only for the first transfer.

Really good to know, thanks. Are transfers from US Debit to Argentine digital wallet always fee-free or just for the first time?

Sending to digital wallet has been without fee for my low amount transfers once every 4-6 weeks for some time. You can recognize an Argentina digital wallet because it has a CVU number (V for virtual I guess), and an Argentina bank account has CBU number.
