Lost in all this is that the same people that bash the media calling election results, exult - and
tweet out the AP confirmation - when it’s in their favor.
That the same people deriding the election results as fraudulent, have no objection to the Senate results that worked out in their favor. Though we are literally talking about the same ballots.
That no whisper of fraud is alleged in any election in which a Republican won. This, though the only known case of mail-in-ballot fraud concerned an operative working for a Republican candidate. The operative was caught, the election overturned, and the candidate withdrew from consideration. None of the people decrying ballot fraud had a word to say.
The simple explanation is that the people who are decrying fraud obviously don’t mean it or care, they just want to pretend they didn’t lose. To those with a different explanation - what is it?
And of course, bears repeating that this is far from the first time the man has accused others of fraud. When Republicans like Ted Cruz were running against him,
those were the ones accused of cheating. “Who is cheating” is, for Trump, simply a matter of “who is running against him”. His entire modus operandi, since far before he entered politics, was to attack the very legitimacy of and in other ways wear down whoever was opposing him.
The problem is not Trump. He is a loser who does not know how to lose. The problem is everyone around him who does know better, and is enabling him to burn down the system in service of a very unserious goal. And who has apparently succeeded in convincing at least a couple of fine members of this forum.
