It's Too Expensive Here!

I am personally a big fan of shopping for clothes in NYC. Best prices and you are in sync with world fashion. It simply does not make sense to shop for men's clothes in BA.

I never liked SFO. Why would anyone pay so much to live in SFO.

If at all one wants to be in California, it has to be in Los Angeles and have a house in Sunset Boulevard. then it may be worth it.

if you're in tech (most people in SFO are), there's 3 main reasons:
1. to earn 180k/year (I thought about it and SFO might suck for some people but at the end of the day... saving 15% of 180k is a lot more than saving 15% of 60k)
2. to be in the startup scene. (talent acquisition, VCs and selling your company)
3. to work with the big players (Google, apple, etc)

My best years were in free spirit SF where dreams come true.

After SF I couldn`t lower my expectations, so I opted out for early retirement.

My U$D2200 rent for a 28th floor studio overlooking both Golden Gate and Bay bridges, was NOT expensive at all !!!!

I LOVE SF !!!!!!!!

Back to reality... from SF . Are we getting closer to the Soups kitchens of Greece

Sorry, Rich One, but one more quick departure.

Why would anyone pay so much to live in SFO? Let's see, quality of life, quality of life, and quality of life. When in USA, I live near SFO, and I pay the same for my apartment here as I would a comparable apartment in Austin. But in Austin (or in La-La-Land), I wouldn't have a balcony view like this...

You dont need to pay as much as you do in SFO for a good view, albeit a different one.

BaKaZoO:
Just saw one of your comments. It's not that Argentines have been raped out of their self-confidence.It's that in the past they have not stuck thru things that were too long or difficult to accomplish until completion. They want a "quick fix" or someone to do it for them and deliver it up to them already done.
In my view this is due to the richness of the country itself..a Spanish saying goes,"La riqueza malcria,la escasez educa".
"Richness spoils you while scarcity educates you"..That's why they really shine when they go abroad. Then, they are forced to stick with it and follow thru.My bet is that they're going to make a change at home this time.

About the inflation, I am not aware of it when I am not in Argentina, though to get an idea when I am planning another visit, I am keeping the "Taxi Ezeiza index" based on publicly archived rates of taxi Ezeiza at http://web.archive.o....ar/spa/tarifas

Since the end of 2006, prices have increased a bit more than 10 fold, which corresponds with an inflation of a bit over 25% annually. The inflation seems to be fairly constant in pesos (not in dollar).
