Killing Time In Colonia

I'm making my first visa run tomorrow via the Buquebus to Colonia. I'll be there for about 6 hours and have nothing in particular I need to do. Any recommendations on places to eat or things to see to kill time while I'm there?

Just go towards the water and old part of town and you'll have a good time.

You could hunt out a geocache, assuming you have a GPS or an iPhone/android smartphone..

Go for a swim on the much cleaner side of the river.

Depends on the time of day you are there.

- Take your driver's license and rent a scooter.
- Go up the lighthouse.
- After 2pm (when they open), eat a very relaxing lunch and read at Lentas Maravillas out in the backyard that overlooks the dock.
- Walk around the peninsula.
- Don't take the tour bus.

Climb the old lighthouse tower. Sample some grappa at Bodega Bernardi.

Have a chivito in Mercosur restaurant. Eating it will take you a while..

go to la Pasiva cafe on the General Flores for a Chivito or a medium price meal.... figure on US$20 for a meal at a resto ...!! or buy bread and cold cuts to eat at the river edge.... jajjaja perhaps $100 pesos argentinos.
