According to this article, there are missing 3 billion tons of wheat that were not exported.

The theories are:
1) productors offer a little bit to make the price rise ( local prices for wheat are double than international prices) and they have 3 billion tons (3 companies own 75% of the market)
2) they sold 3 billion tons (under the table) and there is no more wheat;
3) the farmer 's union says the lack of wheat is responsabilty of the government for bad policies.

The governmet decree to use a law that allow them to confiscate the missing wheat and to sell it at international prices in the local market.

As i said many times, the problem in this country are monopolies and cartels.

And the correct answer is:

3.

How about sharing some of the blame with the Government, the self proclaimed business partner that expects 30+% of the product's worth and whose main contribution to the whole process is just rendering it a mission impossible?

So it's not as if the wheat shortage hadn't been anticipated (by people other than Moreno, at least).

Bajo, get your shit straight, a MILLION has 6 ceros.
A BILLION is either a thousand or a million millions. 9 or 12 ceros.

According to the official numbers, they're short 3 MILLION tons. Official guesstimates, seriously?

Also the article says 18 companies account for 75% of declared productions, not 3. Your numbers are more twisted than Moreno's.

Had never payed much attention to your posts before, possibly trying to avoid unnecessary conflict, but the gross lack of accuracy on this short article and your review of it tells me you are a bullshitter of first magnitude. So much for your word's worth

Thanks for the correction, my mistake. However they make no difference on the topic.

Absolutely no difference.

Here, let me assist with edits:

One of Moreno's goons was buying food at the local Wal-Mart when his wife noticed that a bag of flour was more expensive than last week. Since the government of CFK insists that annual inflation is only 10% (when it is really 28%), this puts them in a sticky situation. It's one thing to argue over convoluted economic numbers and forecasting with people who have thick eye-glasses and pocket protectors, but even the most stupid of voters can tell when a bag of flour is now more expensive. And, October is coming... so those on The Throne decided the best idea was to "manage" votes inflation by freezing prices.

[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]According to this article, at the moment there are missing 3 billion million tons of wheat that were not exported, but are not yet on the local market and can't be accounted for. Farmers had planned to export 5 million tons, paid taxes on that export, but actually exported only about 1.3 million tons. For the first time the government owes the wheat exporters a credit and CFK Lorenzino will try every way to keep those Dollars in the basement of the Casa Rosa Central Bank. In fact, Commerce Secretary Moreno moved fast to pass another new law that allows the government to attack confiscate product and check tax records of farmers and produces who are "suspected" of not doing exactly what the government and CFK wants them to do. [background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]The knee-jerk theories used by populist activists to support the government or attack particular opponents are:[/background]
[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]1) productors offer a little bit to make the price rise ( local prices for wheat are double than international prices) and they have 3 billion million tons (3 18 companies own 75% of the market)[/background]
[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]2) they sold 3 billion million tons (under the table) and there is no more wheat;[/background]

According to this article the wheat producers say the wheat is here, that is wasn't sold and wasn't exported. The producers say that they have given all of the documentation that Moreno asked for. For it's side, the government says it is confident that the wheat will be accounted for - which means there really isn't any story here.

[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]As i said many times, the problem in this country are monopolies and cartels - one of the worst being the government of CFK, which thinks that the most appropriate public policy is extortion.[/background]
