Dr. Andres Carrasco, a leading Argentine neuroscientist who criticized Monsanto and the liberal application of it's marque product, Roundup, has died.

Dr. Carrasco identified Glysophate, a key chemical in Roundup, as the cause of embryonic genetic spinal mutations in frog and chicken embryos. Monsanto dismissed Dr. Carrasco's findings saying scientists don't yet understand "how to translate genetic modulations into predictions of adverse outcome." In layman's terms Monsanto is saying that the good Doctor, a molecular biologist at the University of Buenos Aires and a widely published expert in embryonic development, didn't know what he was doing.

Carrasco's research also was criticized by Argentine authorities

Juanito vanished a while back, did Cristina steal his sword and kill the thorn in her friends at monsato's side?

When someone who has openly challenged a huge multinational like Monsanto conveniently dies, there is always room for reasonable suspicion. And 67 is not elderly, in terms of today's life expectancies.

Trying to blame La Presidenta is silly. Casting a jaundiced eye of suspicion in Monsanto's direction, however...well, it was certainly convenient for them, wasn't it?

Possum you don't understand Argentine politics. La Presidenta is all powerful, and the root of all good or all evil, and everything good in this country is her magnificent doing, and everything bad is because she's an incompetent fool.

Please start your posts with either of these thoughts so you don't sound like such a noob.

Yes, yes, of course, I stand corrected :)

In keeping with the theme of neuroscience, perhaps we could just address the issue of her short attention span.
