Learning Spanish in BA

Thanks for the tips @camel. I'm looking at taking the UBA 1 month course in January 2020.

I just got an email from UBA saying if you pay in December (by the 20th maybe), you can get the 2019 price for the January or February class. It works out to about US $200. I expect the price to go up to around US $300 for 2020.

Thanks. Are those the prices listed here > http://www.idiomas.filo.uba.ar/es/aranceles-de-espanol-taxas-de-espanholspanish-fees ? The pre-enrollment Mercosur fee? I'm hoping I can get my precaria by then and hopefully get the Mercosur rate if I qualify.

Yes that's them. When I said US $200 I was assuming mercosur.. without mercosur, it will be closer to US $200. Once you take one class, then you move to the next category (preferencial), which is a but cheaper. But mercosur is the cheapest category to be in.

In my above post, I meant to say, "without mercosur, it will be closer to US $300".

I would look for an affordable and good tutor. I took some of those classes and spent most of the time waiting for the class members to show up, take coffee breaks and catch up to different levels. I learned more from Adriana Crom in 4 hours per week than I did in 20 hours of group classes, and gave me much more time to enjoy the city and practice my Spanish!
Not sure if she’s still tutoring? Lots of tutor recs here if you search.
