Looking for a phone service provider

I was really happy using tello esim and being able to receive calls to my US number. With an iphone 13 it worked seamless.
Recently switched to an Android and its not working the same. Calls to my tello number almost never ring, whether on wifi or Claro.

Ive tried most every combination in Sim Manager.
If anyone has a good setup on Android that works, please share.

I've only used android with it and it's worked fine for years. The eSim works with wifi calling only, so it ordinarily won't work with Claro or any mobile data, which is the one downside to it, I guess.

For anyone who gets it and it's not working at all, make sure you have added an E911 address in the online account or it might not work. Happened to me, till I added one.

That is odd, an eSIM (as long as the account is topped up, of course) should work fine with mobile networks, that's the whole point, of course. Something must be wrong with your eSIM, or more correctly, with your account... no funds, no roaming, or something like that.

Using one SIM's mobile data connection for Wi-Fi Calling on another SIM is still a fairly niche feature.
It's available on iPhones, Pixels, and certain Samsung flagship models, depending on the region.
If your phone is not compatible, you have to carry a second phone with a local number and use it as a Wi-Fi hotspot.

You lost me. Why on another SIM? The eSIM functionality should be exactly the same as a physical SIM. If you’re not on your home network you’ll pay roaming charges, of course, but that’s how it works.

WiFi will be free, of course.

You're taking roaming for granted. Roaming only works if Tello has an agreement with some local carrier, such as Personal in Argentina, that allows Tello subscribers to connect to its cell towers.

Many smallish US MVNOs historically had little or no international roaming. Some only supported roaming in Mexico and Canada. If I'm not mistaken, roaming in Argentina is a relatively recent addition for Tello.

Because of that, many people used a local SIM for data and then used Wi-Fi Calling on their US SIM over that data connection.I think Cross-SIM Calling is the generic term, but different companies use different names for it.

What I wanted to say is that some phones, such as iPhones and Pixels, support this feature, while many others do not.
