I'm planning a South to North (BA to the US) trip and was originally going to take my 1976 VW van (aka: combi, hippy van) from the states. I'm in BA now and the car was being shipped from Houston but now it doesn't look like it's going to make it (without getting into the gory details, the shipping company basically went out of business and may have fenced the car).
Anyway, I'm planning to finish the trip h@ll or high water and am now looking for a replacement vehicle. I'd like to spend less than $5,000 and would prefer something with US plates given the legal issues and price premium associated with buying an argentinian car. I'm sure anyone who has gone through the process, understands my preference.
If you have a vehicle with US plates/papers that you'd be willing to sell to a US citizen (under $5,000 is my target) or if you know anyone who's in this situation, please let me know.
