Hey there,

I am originally from California, I spent about a year in BA but I am now back in the states. I'm engaged and my fiancee is Argentinian. We are planning on getting married down in Buenos Aires and we are going crazy trying to figure out what's needed! I have looked around the site but it seems like most questions are regarding getting citizenship or a permanent residency which we are not really interested in getting. Hopefully one of you can shed some light on this:

On the registro civil website (http://www.buenosaires.gob.ar/tramites/como-es-el-tramite-de-matrimonio) it mentions only needing the foreigner's passport to get married.

However, on this site https://www.casamientos.com.ar/articulos/requisitos-para-matrimonio-entre-un-argentino-y-un-extranjero--c5196 it apparently says that to get married you also need your birth certificate and some sort of single status affidavit.

We already have our plane tickets (April 10) and we would hate to be unprepared, however, we don't want to go through the process of legalizing documents like the single status affidavit which is time consuming and expensive if its not necessary.

Do any of you have any clue on what to do? We have called and emailed every single registro civil and no one EVER even picks up.

Thanks!
