Maduro Wins Venezuela's Election With 51% Of Votes

Something clearly is wrong here. I believe there was fraud here and the whole point is to try to leave this behind, if not they would comply to stop the complaints and the media outrage.

It's simply the Law, a manual recount is impossible since the Constitution of 1999. It's automatized.

Still, a global recount would be welcome (54% have already been recounted).

Fraud in a South America election shocker!

The last two coups/frauds in Latin America were in Honduras & Paraguay, by the ultra-conservative/extreme right groups.

Still, it's going to be a big challenge for Maduro. Many, including among the Chavistas, have doubts about his abilities and this close result won't help.

Will he have the political maturity to rule in a moderate way or will he choose the path of populism & confrontation? If he chooses this latter path, then he'll likely lose the probable referendum that will come soon.

If this is true, you have already got an answer:

It's hard to be really well informed about this election. For instance, many newspapers tell the 7 casualties resulted during a pro-Capriles protest (with no mention that 6 of them were pro-Chavistas + 1 policeman). The extreme right groups are trying to fuel disorder.
It is definitely hard to find good information about the current situation, but when you are trying to argue something about extreme right groups in Venezuela, you have probably been watching Cuban television.

Chavez also spent time in jail, mujica too. That doesn't mean nothing.

The reality is simple. If the election was cristal clear, why not doing a recount? What's the harm with this? Why the CNE was so expeditive with it? The rushed the process to name him President after one day disregarding the petition of recount.

Because the re-count needs for Capriles to ask for it and Capriles is not asking for it where he has to do it.

And the recount of the ballots that were destroyed??? The whole thing is tainted. They need to go back and do the vote all over again, this time with those international organizations actually stepping in and preventing voter fraud.

The international organisations were present at the first vote. They ruled that it was fair.

Sometimes, the "wrong" guy wins democratically. No fraud required.

I think the international organisations drank a bit too much: http://america.infobae.com/notas/70071-Las-misteriosas-mesas-en-las-que-Maduro-obtuvo-el-99-de-los-votos
