Making an appointment with US Embassy

Forget phone, no one will answer. Email is your only hope. Don't show up without email appointments, the embassy is locked down harder than the Colorado suopermax prison. Might as well show up there and ask to see El Chapo

According to what I heard recently, during the shut down, government employees call in sick in most places.

Here is the most recent response from the US Embassy for me concerning the SSA 7162 form.
I will say that they were very rapid in their response via my email request to me wanting to provide
the form. I did state in my email request that expedited services will not deliver to PO Boxes and
that the Argentina Mail is not delivering to the USA. I am sure that they know this.
They responded in less than 4 hours. I made my request today at 10:30 AM. Kudos to them.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE DO NOT CREATE A NEW EMAIL, IF YOU NEED TO SEND US DOCUMENTS DO IT REPLYING TO THIS EMAIL.

For what it's worth, less that ten minutes ago I called Social Security's toll-free line (800) 772-1213 and requested that rather than wait on hold for an agent, that someone from SSA would call my Google Voice (USA) number here in Argentina. The call was returned in less than a minute. Great service.

I just called this number 11 5777 4510 and they answered and are there to serve you.
Write them an email at [email protected] ,
using as subject: FEQ-country where you live-last name of the worker’s record under which you receive benefits (sample: FEQ-Argentina-Doe) and add the following information:
  • Complete name of the beneficiary that did not receive the monthly payment.
  • Last 4 digits of the SSN under which benefits are paid
  • Two phone numbers
  • Address
  • Reason for the email: Non receipt of monthly benefit
The receptionist that I just talked to said that they are obligated to respond within 5 business days.

If you don't know how to send an email, let us know and someone will try to help you with that problem.

Thank you Macanudo, I did follow these guidelines that you provided and got my response. Put in your request and they will respond with what you may need. Some things may have to be done with an appointment. Easier things are really done quickly; I spoke with one of the guards and they were very nice about things. I do not believe that the US Embassy wants to create more issues, those at the site want to resolve the issues that you may have .... and move on to better things ... such as today .... the sun was shining ... there were many people walking around .... there was an exhibition going on ...it was a beautiful day ... the Argentinian people just want to enjoy the day.
