SF trubuto al 2* centenario

Saint Felicien Malbec Tributo al 2ndo. Centenario, $438 pesos in Mercado Libre.

Vicentin - available at Tonel Privado, memorable, and won't break the bank.

Another option (but I don't know for sure if you can get it at USA or not): Famiglia Bianchi Reserva 2012
This particular bottle, won an international award as best dry red wine of the world in france.

A bottle is about 180$ at Disco, and I guess you can get a better price in a wine store or MercadoLibre.
A wonderful wine with decent price, and perhaps the award thing adds something else to the gift.
For instance you can print the article and put a frame on it, you can read the story before a toast, etc.

The better-known Malbecs are Angelica Zapata (you can get it at a Carrefour I think) and Bramare

But for more moderately priced and a more Argentine experience (I'm told by locals), and still really good wines, you can get Chakanas: http://www.shop.chakanawines.com.ar/
Search for 'Ayni' -- there is a 50% offer right now. Just bought myself a case as Christmas gifts

I hate it when people come with 40 peso wine bottles from local chino when attending potlucks or despedidas

Available in the US

Also available in the US and certainly not the best dry red in the world.

Ok Rodolfo, You got me. I'm not an expert here, and as I said I don't know what is available at the US market.
I also don't believe blindly in any award of any type even when a french jury is involved and the subject of the contest is wine.
Perhaps you can tell us, which is best dry red in the world according to you.
I'm here to learn, not to teach :)
