Six months, I don't think so. I have heard that one month before (28 days) is the the day you should book it... you want to do it as soon as you can of course. You can even book it online and there I've heard it can be 40 days before. You'll need your DNI/passport. You also have to do the medical checkup within 7 days before the union and present your witnesses' DNIs 3 days before along with all the other paperwork.
