the only part i didn't like about some of those sites is that you can't actually go to see the apartment... you have to go by the description and pictures and it's take it or leave it. i found the craigslist ad owners to be very open to coming by and checking it out in person. or was this because i arrived during the winter vacation and copa and everything was booked?

Thank you so much for this. I have just confirmed with my employer and they have rented an appartment for a month in Recoleta for me and after that, I will have to look for my own place. I am hoping that it will give me sufficient head start. They have also confirmed that they would provide a guarantee should it become necessary!
