I wholeheartedly agree with Fangar. A visit of a month, or two, could be really helpful for you, when you have things taken care of with your house. (It sounds like a very good idea that you are renting it out instead of selling it.). The best months for a trial visit might be Oct / Nov or March / April.
Argentina is a great place for a complete change of venue and pace. Taking Spanish lessons can give your mind a place to go when you are feeling sad, and the variety of landscapes the country has to offer can help keep you busy seeing new places while you heal. Buenos Aires itself is extremely interesting, with a vast array of cultural opportunities. It is also a very walkable city.
I hope that you will try it, that the visit will help you, and that you will find Argentina as fascinating as many of us on the forum do. Best wishes to you in this terribly difficult time.
