Navigating New Migrations Law

Sorry - can't find a link to an English version of the Declaración Jurada, but below is what Aerolíneas Argentinas is telling its customers. I presume US and other carriers will provide appropriate links. Also embassy sites. Unfortunately the link provided by AerolÍneas is to a page that tells you a DDJJ (Declaración Jurado) is no longer needed. This is true for the DDJJ that was used in days of Covid, not true for present circumstances.

Affidavit for passengers travelling from or to Argentina

Due to national regulations (3025/2020), as of September 7th all passengers travelling from or to Argentina, must comply with the following requirements, within 48 hours prior to the trip.

Requirements

- Complete an electronic affidavit which can be found. at: http://ddjj.migraciones.gob.ar/app/

- At check-in, show the voucher they received in their email upon completion of the affidavit.

It is important for you to know that having the documentation required by both the country of origin and the country of destination is of the essence and necessary to board our flights. Due to the constant updating of the requirements and required documentation to travel imposed by each country, please always check them with the relevant Embassy or Consulate. Having said required documentation and complying with all migratory requirements of each country is the exclusive responsibility of each passenger. Otherwise, you won’t be able to board Aerolíneas Argentinas flights.

This seems to be Covid related from 2020 and not related to the new DNU

Thank you to everyone who has replied, I have purchased a refundable ticket and hopefully I get a kind agent. Last time I went to Buenos Aires and did two visa runs to Uruguay, there was no issue. But now the migrations and entry laws are getting stricter for foreigners.

I'll keep everyone updated!

Hi all, just an update to anyone following this thread: the migrations process was very easy and I was not asked for health/travel insurance. I showed the migration agent at argentina border my onward ticket to chile and told him i was visiting for tourist reasons. i also give him my airbnb address.

hope this helps!

To insurance & return ticket, add:

As of June 2025, a citizen entering Argentina is required to complete a Declaración Jurada (sworn declaration).

Did this Declaracion Jurada ever come into effect? I can find absolutely nothing online about it.

This link specifies the reqirements for entry into Argentina and they have been in effect for many years. It is neither a DNU or a "Declaracion Jurada" or a DNU (Presidental Decree).

A Declaración Jurada is a formal statement made by an individual in Argentina for legal, immigration, financial, or personal purposes. t's a sworn statement made in writing and signed under oath.

Here is Wikipedia's description of a DNU:

Necessity and Urgency Decree[1] (Spanish: Decreto de necesidad y urgencia, also known as DNU) is a special kind of order issued by the President of Argentina. Unlike regular decrees, which are used in Argentina for rulemaking, a DNU has the force of law. Once the President promulgates a DNU, it comes into force almost immediately; afterwards, the National Congress must examine the decree to determine whether it will be allowed to remain in force or not."

Yep. I'm asking if there's such a thing right now for tourists entering the fair land of Argentina. I can't find anything on it so I am presuming nope. I'm fully conversant with the magic of the DNU. Thank you, Steve :)

I have't seen any posts that indicate that tourists are now required by migraciones to make a Declaracion Jurada upon entry.

It would be interesting to know what migraciones might ask anyone who is entering the country for the first time to declare. Perhaps that they swear not to overstay their entry permit or to get the 90 day extension if they are going to be in the country past the first 90 days, but I haven't heard anything like that, at least not yet.
