New Online Purchasing Laws

All of this BS will backfire imho. What are people going to do with all those pesos, when they cannot spend them freely? you guessed it! They will go and buy usd.... I cannot believe such monkeys are ruling this country, and definitely cannot understand how people tolerate how they are restricting their freedom. It is beyond me.

This morning's blue dollar has rebounded to 11.81 pesos.

Can someone tell me if this is the case or just another instance of BAH not translating correctly:

"According to the updated regulations, buyers will have to complete a sworn statement and will be limited to two purchases per year via internet, if the seller is based overseas. "

I'm very confused and if true going to completely stop domestic spending so I can flee this failing country ASAP

It's true, 2 per year (applies to over 25usd i think), more than 2 and you need to apply to be an importer.

Economic illiteracy. Thats the problem here, there is no independence of thought, all the state institutions are populated with group think yes men. It is incredible that the central bank is a branch of the state under state control.

I will ride it out, a rarely buy online because my shopping is confined to food and very occasionally clothes. Not much of a consumer. I am shelving some plans for a business I had though.

Looking at your posting history you are only confounding your unhappiness by staying, in your position I would be at Ezeiza tomorrow.

I like to think that I see the BIG PICTURE here BajoCero. The mechanics and modus operandi of these so called laws are the nuts and bolts.
The BIG PICTURE here is freedom of the individual, which under this regime and its onerous, draconian taxes and bureaucracy, is being eroded as every month passes.
If I were a Freudian analyst, I would ask why you so casually threw North Korea into this discussion and I would rest assured that I knew the answer already.

I was thinking about this last night, wouldn't it just be easier for them to impose restrictions on the internet like they do in China, Syria, North Korea (do they even have internet?) etc? Why don't they just block sites if they don't want people buying. I'm sure that will be their next step. Can't get a certain airfares aggregator site up today, wonder if that's already happening. One for the conspiracy theorists on this board to ponder on, jajaja.

Baffled by the amount of tolerance the Argentines have for BS. Seen them burn a bus because it was late, yet all these Draconian restrictions, not a peep. Is everyone that intimidated by this Government?
Two purchases a year...

I also wait and wonder...what will it take for them (or us? Since I am part of them by now) to retaliate? What does it really take? I know this has been asked time and time again on this forum, but it will forever be the one thing I can't understand about the citizens of this country. Day after day I just sit and watch how they take it in the you-know-where, but I don't do anything about it either. The only explanation I ever come up with is that they all secretly thrive on the chaos, and those that don't eventually find a way to get the heck out.

Syngirl or Sungirl, whichever you prefer, I believe that's just around the corner and I too am surprised it hasn't happened already.
For example, look how the UK has been able to block certain torrent sites such as The Pirate Bay, not to mention the porn filter.

Anyone with half a brain knows that this latest restriction is an idiotic measure. Why argue with Bajo? He has an axe to grind for whatever reason.

The sad reality is that the Ks have so reduced the middle class that there are fewer and fewer to complain about restrictions on freedom. The masses who live on the subsidies, with no hope of getting a decent education, job training or help getting started with a small business are not affected. They just get by. Just as long as they vote and keep Cristina in power.
