New Online Purchasing Laws

This country was always protectionist regarding importing. In fact, they are enforcing a law enacted over 20 years ago.

But seems that this year the mail system was overwhealmed and that s why they enact these resolucions.

The ems (doir to door mail) was only a loophole.

Chile, where it's to easy to purchase dollars and obtain imports online, is the only Latin American country without any net foreign debt: http://tinyurl.com/k6s2uou

When you have money you can do it.

During Menem and De la Rua people wanted usd and they took loans for about 90 billions to give them what they wanted. We all know how it finished.

This administration is taking austerty messures regarding international commerce and populismo regarding internal commerce. It makes sense as soon as they have the pesos printing machine, but they lack the one that prints usd.

Unconfortable? Yes, austerity always is.

Chile was well administrated for 30 years. I understand that to start paying the debt and stop taking new loans plus auterity regarding international commerce is to administrate well the low budget they have in usd.

The priority is to pay the external debt, not allow people to evade the custom's law.

I wonder how this would affect gifts being sent to Argentina?

Looking at your posting history you are only confounding your unhappiness by staying, in your position I would be at Ezeiza tomorrow.

It is true, I'm very unhappy here. I thought I'd give it 6 months and almost 8 on I realized I made one if the worst decisions in my life moving to Argentina.

What's worse for anyone thinking of moving here is that I have a job, a DNI, an apartment, etc but I can't travel, buy the foods and goods I like or even shop online anymore.

I still owe my friend like 6,000 ARS and I have $100.00 usd in my bank account. I want to leave but can't.

I just don't know what to do.

So sorry to hear you are struggling :( Why is it that you can´t leave if you don´t mind me asking? Do you own your apartment?

Phone home? Explain and ask your family to help you out, I dunno...you basically need a plane ticket out and a way to get your friend his money...600USD-ish I guess. Do you have a credit card that gets you home?

Take stock, start again...we've all done it. Many years ago I left London in similar circumstances, after 5 yrs it was not working for me, affected me negatively and i had to cut and run with some debts (of friendship and financially). Man ,I do not like London still to this day, I feel the same way about that place (to live!...great vacation city!) that you do about B.A. Some times you need to take beat a hasty retreat to sort yourself out. Sometimes toughing it out doesn't do that much for you. Best decision I ever made was cutting and running, move backed to a smaller town, on to Dublin and then back out into the world happier, wiser and better off.

No shame in it, life's too short to suffer.

I agree...use your resources to leave now. If you feel like you're in a rut it may get harder and harder to go. I think we can lose our perspective and feel unempowered when we are in a place that sucks us dry. Best of luck to you - there are ways out, you can do it!
