Newtown, Ct School Shooting

A shooting also happened in a shopping mall in Portland, Oregon a few days ago. Had the shooter's weapon not jammed, it could have been much worse than the 2 deaths he caused before being killed himself.
I feel much safer in Argentina than in a crowd in the US.

It's heart-breaking. He suffered from mental illness. I can't even comprehend the horror and sadness those families are experiencing.

This is terrible news. I know he might have had a mental illness but do we blame this or is it time that the US look at the number of guns in the hands of the public.

This sort of tragedy is staring to happen with sickening regularity. Heartfelt sympathies to all effected.

The gun argument is a difficult one. Illinois is a state with some of the toughest gun laws and also has one of the highest rates of gun crimes. This boy was mentally ill and his uncle said he was autistic (which I don't know that that has anything to do with this incident). These sick individuals who do this purposly attack where they know they will not have any retaliation.
The trauma does not end with the families of the dead children and teachers but also with all the children who have to go to school on Monday and not feel safe. My nieces and nephews live outside of Hartford, Ct and I know my brother is having a very difficult conversation with them.

This is an unfathomable tragedy regardless of what side of the gun control debate you are on.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those families affected. The personal devastation is hard to comprehend.

Sadly,

GS
