Argentina NEVER has a plan. That is no surprise. You name it: health, education, economy and the list goes on. We improvise, always. It is usually a curse, a few times a blessing.
With all my respect. Here you are wrong.
The plan to deal with a pandemic was developed 80 years ago at the Plan Qinquenal. The albergue Warnes, an unfinished gigantic hospital was designed to deal with a mayor pandemic.
Even the hospital was finally demolished, the other wings or the Plan are working including CONICET/Malbran/UBA.
AF is peronista, he is following it.
I read it some years ago, and I have it somewhere in my library.

This is severely misguided. If you ever went near a hospital you would realise how wrong you are. Most hospitals are understaffed, overworked with very poor equipment and lack of beds. Go visit an emergency waiting room any night of the week to see how great free healthcare is. Wait times over 12 hours. The ideal solution is a model like Australia's which is primarily private but also offers public medicare aid to those who need it. The issue with Argentina is the economy is shit so too many depend on the public aid instead of having private. The infrastructure lacks investment as well which is why the quality is poor. I know it hurts because its supposed to be one of Argentinas shining lights but healthcare here is NOTHING to cheer about at all when compared to most first world countries. Trust me I know - as I said many of my relatives work directly in the system (both private and public). This is not hearsay. I also have friends who work in the "top" Buenos Aires hospitals.
Well, the American system is just like you say and we all see how good it is working. Bravo!
FYI I have been several times during my life in public and private hospitals for emergencies. To wait 12 hours at an emergency room? Sure, there is something called triage, they select who is in a real emergency and, if you really need them, they are a lot more efficient and better prepared at public hospitals.
In fact, you ignore the basic of how does the system works in Argentina. Only 33% is public, 33% is private and 33% belongs to the unions.

Bajo tell us about Swedens approach since we know you love their socialist policies. They have a easy higher death rate than your hated USA yer a better medical system. What's that about?

Btw this airline shutdown is purely about Aerolineas once again killing any competition through government actions. They want it back to the cancellation and delays days during K rule where no one was able to compete and highlight how bad there are. This is not about the health of people let's be clear.

I really don’t like Sweden, I don’t know where you take this from. Sweden is socialist, but nationalsocialist. They had a racial selection plan (eugenic) working until 1978 based on social asistance (do not have children and we assist you) and still they have an education system that ensures that foreigners remains for undesirable works not having a chance for universities.
As far as I know, Sweden had neo liberal governments since 1990 and they cut the budget for the public system of health severely.
But is a legit question. Everybody thinks Sweden is socialist. And it is, in its contempt for human life.
The main problem Sweden has is that Swedish don’t used to have children, so they have a wide old population. The second problem is they have the bad of capitalism (budget cuts in the health system) and the bad of socialism (social experiments). The whole idea about socialism is to have a strong health system they do not have now:
Socialist like to do social engineering, experiments. The III Reich was a social experiment. What this epidemiologist is doing is just an experiment but, instead of mice, he is using people, and they die.
Chinese epidemiologist are reporting that this collective immunity does not exist.
Smallpox was not eradicated, allowing the entire population to become infected, but instead with universal vaccination.
So, I’m worried as soon as I have relatives there, my father included.

And here you are wrong too. I do not hate the United States. I have lived there twice and to be critical critic with Trump and republicans is not to attack the US.
However, when I had to decide between both systems, I decided for one where the medical insurance must cover everything by law
, where if I have to pays something is not expensive and, there is also a public system. This is why I didn’t stay in NYC and facts show I was right.
I saw severe deficiencies in sanitation in NYC. And their problem was not lack of wealth, instead, ideology.

How did a thread about airline flight suspension get diverted into an argument over public health care?
I suppose this is a silly question. I've lived here long enough to know that the obvious answer is, "because Argentina".
