Options for broken phone

Hi,

My landlord gave me a claro phone (pre-paid credit) to use but I broke it. Being new to the country, can I simply take out the sim card (chip) and put it in another unlocked or claro phone and everything works the same?

Yes. I had to do this too. Worked fine with another phone.
