For those of you who are interested, here is some pretty interesting analysis.

The article goes into the way in which voters are being fed simplistic rhetoric and then will choose to vote based on their allegeance to some general ideological principles and the persuasive charisma of a particular leader. As opposed to researching and evaluating actual detailed policy positions of the various parties.

"...el porcentaje de “personas que se toman el trabajo de analizar las propuestas de cada espacio político”, es decir que no votan por el partido ni por posicionamiento ideológica, es “muy chiquito, no representa más del 8% del electorado”.

The article goes through a lot of other interesting elements if you are into this sort of thing. (Though if only 8% care about the actual policy when it comes to democratic elections, I guess even less care about the underlying related meta analysis).

We don't see nearly enough of this sort of journalism in much of the media, unfortunately.

The article identifies a serious set of problems in terms of the lack of democratic responsibility within the demos, on the one hand, and the political information/campaign/propaganda model, on the other.

Enjoy!
