Pasting and Passing On a Subtle Message from a Friend Here

Completely off-topic:

I glanced at the title of this thread and thought it was about a message pasted inside the train cars of the SUBTE. :D

How could they ever be silently transferred?
Meaning no public debate, only a 'fait accompli'

"Last Friday we had talks with the Argentine government and it was decided that, considering the circumstances, as of Monday the Falkland Islands are part of Argentina under a British guarantee of ..." more or less like Czechoslovakia 1938-39.

Edit:
- and same as mentioned in my above "In the late 1960s, secret negotiation between Argentina and Great Britain ..."

Future of Falklands/Malvinas could in fact depend on Brazil, when this country will be more powerful than UK (and than France too :D) in a few decades :
This has been predicted for 60 years and more.

Check population figures, Brasil's population:

1900: 17,438,000
1950: 51,944,000

1970: 93,139,000
1980: 147,053,000
1990: 157,079,573 (census)
2000: 172,860,000
2010: 194,000,000 (estimate, growth rate app. 1.25%)

vs. development in resources for Brasil.

Like Bangladesh, Mexico, Pakistan and Turkey, Brasil has a suicidal population growth. As I see it, Brasil is one of the many "countries without a future" unless they can stop it.

Indeed, it's also a very plausible scenario. I guess it could be affected by the fight against poverty (once you reach the middle class, you make less kids statistically. I guess this applies to Brazil as well).

Also completely OT - that reminded me of:

I remember from my years in the military, that we always knew when it was Friday - when the women in the cafeteria began to look pretty.
(after spending a whole week in male only barracks :)

And maybe turn the foreign languages, epseically the inglés, a few notches down for the next few months.

Funny, I got the same impression a few weeks ago when I got caught up in a loud demonstration on Corrientes full of banners with slogans about the Malvinas/Falklands... I discreetly asked my argentine friend if it was maybe a bad idea for me to be there, looking and sounding as british as I do. He just laughed and said it was an election stunt and nobody took it seriously.

As for the union jacks, I'm still seeing them everywhere.
