Hey guys, this might be a shot in the dark, but I was wondering if anyone could help me out and exchange my $500 US Dollars for your 355 Euros.

Thing is, I'm leaving for Cuba on Tuesday and both Monday and Tuesday are feriados, so I can't exchange my money at one of the casas de cambio and if I exchange Dollars instead of Euros in Cuba they charge me an extra 10% (I'm sure it has something to do with the embargo;-) You can check out my profile here, I'm not trying to scam anyone, just looking for someone to help me out.

Thanks guys!! I'll even buy my good samaritan a beer or maybe we can workout a cigar/rum deal from cuba! PM Me!

I can't help you but at worse, one of the casas de cambio inside the airport (Banco Nacion which has the best rates will likely be closed) might be opened. They don't have the best rates but that still will be better than the 10% overcharge.

Draw Pesos convertibles with your credit/debit card upon arrival, keep your US$ for the items you can only buy in the black market in Cuba.

At least last time I was visiting, US$ were preferred over Pesos conv.

Don't tell them.
You usually get your visa & entry/exit stamps on a separate piece of paper to keep with your passport.

Sort of off the subject but what's the best way to get to Cuba? Direct flight?

Try www.travelocity.com I just compared them with momondo(different location) and they were $100+ cheaper.
EZE to HAV?

Travelocity told me:
Due to a U.S. government travel restriction we are unable to book this reservation.
What you can do:

  • Please select another destination.
TomAtAlki wants to go to Cuba, what do you suggest - a parachute? :D:D
