The usual Google Translate deal, banner is in Castellano and story will initially appear in that tongue, but wait a few seconds and it will change to English.
Apparently the Pope's choice to be the new Archbishop of Buenos Aires has annoyed the more conservative arm of The Church here, as have several other recent appointments.
A couple good quotes -
"García Cuerva, bishop of Río Gallegos between 2019 and 2023 and auxiliary bishop of Lomas de Zamora, between 2017 and 2019, earned the adjective 'villero priest' in La Cava de San Isidro, for his adherence to the 'option for the poor'. 'and by public statements that bring him closer to Peronism.'"
"Those who criticize are the same ones who usually attack Archbishop Víctor 'Tucho' Fernández from La Plata for what he says, for his clear adherence to the pastoral options close to popular sentiment promoted by the Pope, but mainly because he is recognized as one of the main spokesmen for what Francisco thinks."
("Francisco" in this context refers to the Pope)
This is probably a good place to mention that Pope Francis (also referred to as "Bergoglio" in this article) is the first Jesuit Pope, the first from the Americas, the first from the Southern Hemisphere, and the first from outside Europe since the 8th century
