Can you just imagine if they allowed you to have those pictures on your Passports? your Identity Cards? your Driver's Licenses?... I really wonder if we all could change to having this site be more of a family than at war hiding behind a picture of something we are not. I am looking and hoping for change within this group.

This is an avatar. Something that represents a user, but it does not necessarily have to be his real picture.
There is no requirement to use "Firstname Lastname" as a forum nick. Similarly, there is no requirement to use a real picture as an avatar. Sometimes it is nice to put faces to names. So, if you personally want to use your real pic, please do it. But you have no reason to push it on others.
