U.S. politics: the GOP will do some major housecleaning, in some cases using long knives. Shake off the lunatic fringe, and bring the ones that got elected in 2010 into line -- just accept your cut of the cash and do/say what we tell you to. Or else.

For those of you who haven't kept up with the changes in the process, the presidential primaries/caucuses begin the first week of January 2012, which means all the horses have to be at the gate by the end of the year.
Before Obama was inaugurated I said that if he were to begin a military action of his own (as opposed to the ones he inherited) it would be against Venezuela. I'm sticking with that, and this could be the year.
