Rat coming up the toilet! Common in Buenos Aires?

Just curious,...do you live in a ground floor apt.??? I live in a third floor, I can't imagine one climbing that high to look at who knows what???.

Unfortunately, in New York I found mice coming through from behind the walls on the third floor, they made holes big enough to get into my apartment (I heard it when it happened, while I was trying to sleep). They can be everywhere, although they seem to like better the ground floor and lower levels. I was told that this could be due to the restaurant and food stores on the same block.

First time I know about that. Rats were a problem in NYC, not here.

Never had mice or rats here. This is the first I've heard of it.

Well, I guess we are just unlucky! I think it's actually the second time this has happened. We had a rat inside the house about a year or so ago and never worked out how it got in...until now. Fortunately, no one was living here at the time and our house manager managed to capture it. She just told us that she noticed tracks did come from the same bathroom. Anyway, yes, rat flap will be installed! Thanks all for your responses.
