Hola everyone

I am a newcomer here and will take the time to write a little info about myself very soon.

However I am in the midst of finding an apartment right now and need some quick tips/help from you experienced Buenos Aires expats.

I want to live in the Large towers in Palermo Soho and wanted to know your opinion about the location of these and whether it is a safe place?

One of the adresses of these towers is something like
Guatemala & Armenia E

Is this a safe place to live?

Thx alot.

Best regards- Senor La Playa

I live near there. I'm a woman with a child and I feel totally safe in the day and at night I've felt safe as well. I'm not out at 3 a.m., so I can't speak to that. I love the area.

Thx A lot Andebobandy:)

Looks like I am going to be living in my dream House after all. Now I just need to start the ordering process.

Vamos, it's a nice area in a trendy and well located part of town. Don't let Lee scare you.

it's a very nice and safe area. don't let people who are bitter for whatever reasons scare you.

My apartment is 6 blocks from there, yes it's a safe area, but as with anywhere don't walk home drunk at 3 in the morning. If you are looking at a big tower block I expect it has 24 hour security?

Yes it has 24 hours security. Well from the majority of people it seems like it is a pretty safe place.

I have travelled most of the world and never encountered any problems, so just wanted to make sure.

I guess worst case is that I will get robbed, in which case I will hand over everything I have at the moment and start over the next day:)

From what I have read most of the crime is just theft and pick pocketing and there is not alot of violent crime in BA.

I live half a block from there, and I'm pretty sure I know the building you're talking about. I think it's a safe enough area, as I haven't had any problems in 1.5 years in this apt and I haven't heard of anyone having problems around here. I occasionally walk home around 3am from Plaza Armenia/Plaza Serrano and I haven't had any problems at that hour, either. There are a couple of open-late places around (on Armenia between Guatemala and Paraguay, a kiosco and an Armenian take-out place on the weekends) which I think is good, as people are out and about even at the late hours, but not causing trouble.

It's a nice building, that big tower, and the ice-cream shop on the corner is excellent.
