We've been living in BA for a while and are getting ready to move on. We'd like to ship one large suitcase from BA to Washington DC -- hopefully on the slow, cheap boat! We will not be back in the States for about a year but we'd like to send one suitcase back in the meantime.
Does anyone have any suggestions, recommendations, or warnings about how to do this? In the past I've had success using air cargo but the rates seem much more expensive than they were 6 years ago (I sent one suitcase from Dublin to Washington for 100 euros, most rates I am seeing on airline websites are 400 USD).
And unfortunately we don't know anyone travelling that way that we could pay their excess baggage fee!
