That is very sad news. RIP Chris.
I didn't have the stomach to do this, thanks a million @nikadI had very mixed feelings about posting this on the forum. I have not personally met @Redpossum, but he has been posting on Baexpats for a long time since his arrival to Buenos Aires. He did not have relatives here or back in the US, just one or two very good friends that became worried as he had not been active online in the last few days and tried to get a hold of him. These friends are all abroad in very distant places.
I found out yesterday that Chris passed last Thursday alone at home in the City. I have notified the US Embassy. It strikes me that somebody can be so alone. I guess that the expat community as heterogeneous as it is is not very close. I don't think Chris' passing should go unnoticed. I think the least I can do is this tiny tribute to his life. Hope he is now in a better place, did not suffer and is now resting in peace.
Greetings And Salutations!
Hello! My handle is Redpossum. The "Possum" bit goes back some 25 years or so. I was working as a bench-tech in the repair lab of a local laser printer company called Talaris Systems in San Diego. We got a new manager, an ex-Navy officer, who was clearly looking for an excuse to get rid of me...baexpats.org

That indeed he was(Grin)(Smiley face)
He was a nice man. An honest man. I liked him. Goodbye, Chris. Vaya con dios.
Many thanks, Nikad. I was afraid of something like this being the outcome. A sad day for so many of us. He is greatly missed already.
