Reduced flight schedules and current entry / exit requirements

Any British nationals UK bound from Argentina need to consider mandatory hotel quarantine and associated costs from 15FEB.

The pot calling the kettle black. UK is the one to talk... Canada just did the same, except blanket coverage - no matter where one comes from.
Are all the politicians even stupider than one imagined, or those are distraction strategies aimed at diverting the attention of the public from a miserable failure of all developed countries to deal with the bloody virus as one civilized intelligent community? It's obvious to a donkey that none of their 'measures' produce any positive results, and yet they keep doing more of the same on a bigger scale...Single masks are no good, let's double or better yet triple them - until we suffocate naturally as opposed from the virus. And let's test everyone travelling between the countries with the same infection rates before departure and upon arrival, even though stats show less than 2% of all the cases ( Canada ) are travel related and 98% is community transmission. And let's cancel all the flights again and leave the poor bastards that dares to travel stranded on the other side of the globe like we did a year ago...And if god forbid they somehow manage to sneak back into their own country, let's slap them with $2K per person for 3 days hotel quarantine bill.
Any idiot could do a better job than our governments, even if it's just shooting in the dark after all - and not some 'sophisticated' manipulation in order to keep the herd scared shitless and implant the docile and submissive genes into our DNA...
Any guesses anyone?

Looks like more travel restrictions are coming, but this time to those wanting to leave the country. In what form these restrictions will take is unclear but expected to be announced in the coming days, according to the leak by BA province governor Daniel Gollan.

Personally I suspect that if implemented it would be by way for supervised hotel quarantine and the inability to make a DDJJ needed to travel if leaving for “tourism” purposes or otherwise a new requirement obtain a special exit permission before traveling (eg like Australia, where numbers of departures can be limited in order to assure their placement in a quarantine facility upon their eventual return).

Flights have already been reduced to a minimum and doubt they will stop altogether.

Given the very slow pace of vaccination and impending winter, I suspect we will be “grounded” in Argentina for the better part of this year. Frequent Business and lifestyle travelers watch this space!

In parallel news, it seems plans are underway to allow foreign tourists again (only residents of Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia and Brazil) at some point this year as well as another domestic tourism stimulus plan that is expected to be launched in JUL. The program will be in two forms - one for Argentine residents by way of a partial refund on tourism spend and another for foreigners by way of Aerolineas Argentinas flight and local accommodation discounts.

The government also reports that despite initial concerns, the recent experience with tourism over the summer where 12m Argentines (almost one third) were travelling, tourism did not increase the rate of infections.

It would seem a little bit twisted if Argentines visiting Brazil faced additional barriers that Brazilians visiting Argentina did not face - but this is Argentina and it is hungry for dollars (to keep trapped inside Argentina) so never say never to the absurd...

at this point its just an exercise in stupidity and trying to maintain an illusion of control.

They should focus more on vaccines... Today they showed 80 year olds lining up over 4 blocks away waiting hours in the hot sun with no seats for a vaccine. Argentina in a nutshell - meanwhile the Government cronies and their families who are not high risk made some phone calls and got personal 1 on 1 treatment at a quiet undisclosed location. Good job Government - leading by example.

Any update on the enforcement of the "self isolation" for 7 days upon arrival in CABA from abroad?
I have heard on this forum that in Provincia they call you on your cell to check (but obviously you can be anywhere haha). Still another friend in Provincia never got a call or anything when he came from Italy back in January.
Have not heard of anything being done in CABA.

No enforcement upon arrival in CABA during February. However be cautious about doormen and neighbours potential snitches.
