Residency Precaria ... Yippee!

We had no turno for the DNI, wasn't needed. We actually asked when we were there doing the initial birth certs if we needed to make an appt for their passports/DNI and they told us wasn't necessary and just to do it when we came back in a few days to pick up their BCs. We did and were in and out in under an hour. They couldn't have been nicer.

It took much longer (and a lot more expensive!) at the US Embassy but to be fair, there I had to do the interview to prove I lived in the US + I had forgotten their passport photos so had to leave and get their pics taken and then go back again. But def more expensive!

yep you see that's the thing :D we were there with our official translator and we were told at the time of making birth certificate that we need to take turno for the DNI and passport subsequently for our son ... however as you said it took me relatively shorter time to file for DNI probably because I was the first person at the registro civil on that cold morning hehe ... but yes they were very nice ... infact the guy was in such a happy mood he made me read a paper in Spanish just for fun ... I almost felt like I was about go get my citizenship right there coz I read it so well :p
