Running Buddies Wanted

I greatly enjoy hiking. But isn't departamento San Rafael a little flat for that?

I have recently arrived in Bs As and found this thread when searching the forums and see that its not too old so thought I would revive it...are you guys still running at all? Or anyone else up for going running around the Palermo area? I've been for a couple of runs so far and managed to avoid all the dog mess/death by bus so may as well continue. I ran a half marathon a couple of months ago but not up to that standard at present. I'm based near Alto Palermo, drop me a message if interested. Cheers, Ed

Helloooo and hola and aloha! My husband and I are arriving in BA in a few days and I also plan to run the marathon in October. We are moving from Honolulu, Hawaii and I am anxious to find running partners and/or groups to train with, as I don't know the city and the safe, good places to run! I've actually never done a marathon before, so this will be my first! My mileage is pretty up there (my last run was 16) but that was about 3 weeks ago because I have some tendonitis issues. Anyway, I would LOVE to run! I arrive on Thursday, Sept. 3rd but will be ready to start running this weekend. We will be staying at a hostel in Palermo-Soho until we find an apartment. Let me know if you are interested!

Hi Katie, Firstly, as you arrive today welcome to Bs As! Well I'm not at the 16 mile stage yet, the most the half marathon is the furthest I've ever run but if you fancy a shorter run 30-60mins around the Palermo parks inbetween your big runs let me know but you'll have to go easy on me for the first couple while I get back into it! I'll PM you my number as well. Ed

I think I've pm'd some of the people who've posted in this thread but not everybody. But I'm down to run with anybody of all abilities. I'm in Palermo right now but am moving to Recolleta tomorrow but wouldn't have a problem hoping on the subway to meet somebody at the parks.

I also plan on taking the subway to run in the reserva ecologicia a lot (which is a really neat place). So if anybody ever wanted to meet me there for a run that would be great. Just shoot me a pm.

Dustin

So are there are any stores dedicated to running in BA? I need some running socks.

Make a small hole in an old pair and they'll start running :D:cool::cool::D

(Sorry, couldn't resist)

There is at least one running specialist store in BsAs. I have to confess I have only been to the place once, and I wasn't overly impressed with the staff, they seemed more interested in selling the most expensive shoes to my friend, rather than take into account her inexperience, gait, weight, or what she wanted the shoes for - Just a different take on what I am used to elsewhere in specialist shops.

Having said that, its an oasis when it comes to running around the place. A lot of the department type stores sell running socksm but I may have just been to this shop on a bad hair day, so try it out and see what you think.
