san antonio de areco

We went in Winter and it was a beautiful and relaxing escape from BA. Our take in photos here: http://2sporks1cup.com/?p=1032

Cycling around was great, reading under a tree in the plaza, and the pub on the corner had live music at night that was quite traditional (Thursday at La Esquina de Merti). But our favourite place was a decadent chocolate shop you could spend some time in: http://2sporks1cup.com/?p=1106

It´s worth an overnight stay. Enjoy! :D

Hi as I post somewhere else it is a beautiful quiet old style town. Good option to relax and recharge batteries. Been there a couple of times, my best place is "Corazonada", a private kitchen restaurant qhere cordon bleu chef Paula cooks for you in her own place. Its just perfect (www.cocinapura.com). A good site is www.sanantoniodeareco.com where you can find all kind of information in San Antonio de Areco. There are plenty of hotels and I would recommend the ones in town, staying in farms gets a little bit boring, specially if weather is not that nice. If you want good chocolates head to Olla de Cobre. A nice place to have a drink is Boliche Bensonar, a "picada" in Merti and then go for a walk beside the river.

I spent about an hour in town and the entire afternoon/evening at an estancia. I had a wonderful experience. I've lived in NYC for the last 12 years so of course, it was exactly what I needed:)

I had a guide that took my Mother and I and he was wonderful. I still have his information if you'd like it.

Recommend to go in this weekend because this is the Traditional day and in Parque criollo you can enjoy different activities about Gauchos and on Sunday they will have Desfile - Traditional Style Parade.
goog journey.

Hi guys! I actually live there (here :) ) so if anyone wants to visit let me know. I'll show you around!
