I don't know? That might depend on whether the UK allows them to retain Uk passports, otherwise, if they are passport holders of the new Scottish nationality I don't think they would be. Nationality in the UK is technically "British", at least that what's on my passport (I have 2, irish & british) , if it changes to become "Scottish" I would say it's a different ball game.
Would depend on whether the British allow Scottish citizens to claim british nationality still. Definitely up in the air legally.
How would you determine who was Scottish and who was just living in Scotland at the time. You can’t be stripped of your citizenship just because you’re resident of a different country.
The UK accepts dual and even multiple citizenship, so even if 100% of the people in an independent Scotland chose Scottish citizenship, they would have the same right as those with French or Pakistani passports to retain their ‘UK citizenship’. Any Scots who chose to keep their UK citizenship, either alongside a new Scottish citizenship or not, would of course remain EU citizens.
