Searching for places to live with kids in BA

Palermo and Las Canitas are the most family friendly as far as the Capital. There are also the suburbs such as Tigre and Pilar but that's like 45 minutes away. My personal favorite is Las Canitas, Pretty much mostly young upper middle class families.

I mean common sense.... being carefull. Enter/leave the house quickly, don't talk on the street, know who comes to your house. Look around, be aware, those sort of things that I think are not as important when you live in an apartment. Also, if you like to travel or leave for the day, leaving a house is more work than just locking the main door of your apartment.... that's all.... I didn't mean to scare or anything. You just have to be a little bit more "aware".

Upon our arival back in town, I asked a lot around as most of my friends and family live in the area. The vast majority never had a problem, but those who did (like getting the house robbed while not at home) those were always related to people. Either a maid who set them up, or the security guard (most blocks have private security in each corner) "sold the house", and that kind of thing.

(Just in case any of you are interested)
I'm a 21 year old American girl who will be here from August until the end of December. I have nine months of overseas professional nannying experience. Last year I spent nine months in Paris watching four children (ages 10, 7, 4, and 2) as well as babysitting for another family on the side with two children (one four and one 10 months). Linguistics is my passion that has driven me to learn French, Filipino, and now Spanish. In a month or so I will be TEFL certified and I am a very patient and thorough teacher. I have been involved and studying art almost my whole life and would be happy to give lessons or teach your children. While I my schedule may be too tight to nanny full time, I am always available to work part-time or fulfill any odd hours you need worked if you can't find someone for what's needed. I can provide references from my previous employers/professors as well. My email is [email protected] and my skype is Cherisse_Gray. Please don't hesitate to contact me!

Palermo (Chico/Botanico) has many apartment bldgs with amenities like small playgrounds on the property, rec rooms, a pool, and some have a children's play place (like you see in McD's) in the basement. The rent on these bldgs is quite high, though.
These types of bldgs also have a dedicated doorman, which is a nice 'extra' for security. There are great playgrounds nearby, and in addition, the city park systems and the zoo are right there.
