Hi,

Argentine living the US. We're in the middle of selling a property in Mendoza. Whats the best way to transfer the money over? We've checked with citibank and they charge 30%. Western Union has a limit of $7500 a day per person, taking a much smaller %.

You might check with HSBC. I don't think they charge a fee approaching 30% (that seems quite incredible that citi is charging that)

I just sold my place. I did a transfer in the white (I had a recent escritura and AFIP certificate to show that the money was 'white'). I did it through Banco Piano and paid 2%.

HSBC can do that for you for no fee if you transfer the money to your own account abroad. Mind you, you have to pay the exchange rate, which is not much, but still.
